Before pictures...

Lots of things going on here...we purchased these solid maple worktables from a woman on Craigslist. They are bakery production tables, about one hundred years old. You can see the potenial, can't you? They measure nine feet long with 3 inch tops, and boy, are they heavy!
My husband has taken them apart, cleaned/repaired the legs and is now restoring the tops to loveliness.
Why, do you ask do we need nine foot worktables? We are in the process of renting a studio/retail space! Mr. B. has needed a "real" workshop space for a long time, I am still amazed at what he has been able to produce in his current tiny space. There will be a painting room for me, so that I can pursue my furniture transformation hobby and make it a business. It will also house my mixed media art studio where I will work, display, stage my creative outputs. In time we may offer classes in various mediums, tapping in to the extensive art community here. It is in a great location...so I am hoping all the negotiations pan out. It is looking very promising! More info to come.

I also picked up this buffet for $20 and the hutch the background of photo 2 for $100. The hutch is a 1950's Drexel piece, solid wood and the buffet is walnut with a mirror. Ignore the mess...ugh.
I picked up this solid oak mid-century buffet, turned flat screen TV console for my daughter. I mixed up my own chalk paint (a whole other story) because of the unique color I wanted (Valspar, Black Raisin) I love the way it turned out and will soon post a photo of it in its finished state. The hand carved details were enhanced with copper leaf paint. It balances out the large brown leather sectional in her family room, and picks up the coral accents in the room. It has great storage for DVD's and games, etc. I paid $40 for it.

I finished it with clear and dark wax...don't you love those big, carved, round knobs on the drawers?
